Friends of Coal Auto Fair Wraps Up
Organizers say the weekend was a success. More than 100,000 people visited the YMCA Complex in Raleigh County. The event is the single largest fundraiser for the YMCA, and this year the goal was to raise $130,000 dollars for the YMCA. "We depend on this money," said Jay Rist, the Marketing Director at the YMCA."It keeps the complex open." The final count is not in, but Organizers say it is safe to say the goal has been reached. The money will keep the facility maintained and up to date. Warren Hylton, the President of Friends of Coal says this is a way for the coal industry to give back to the community. "This event is so important to help the YMCA complex," said Hylton."This takes care of the kids all year long and makes sure the facility continues to serve the community."
